EASTON, Pa. –
The Lafayette baseball program has announced its schedule for the 2019 campaign which will celebrate the 150th
anniversary of intercollegiate baseball at the College.
The season kicks off with a three-game series in North Carolina as the Leopards will take on Elon Feb. 15-17. The following weekend includes another three-game set with James Madison Feb. 22-24 before taking on Rider University at Diamond Nation on Feb. 26.
Two more three-game series sandwich a midweek game at Fairleigh Dickinson to open up the month of March before Lafayette plays its first home game against Penn on March 12.
Patriot League play begins with a pair of road double-headers at Lehigh on March 23-24 and the home conference schedule will open the following weekend with two double-headers against Navy on March 30-31.
The Maroon and White will look to defend its Liberty Bell Classic title from a season ago on April 2 with an opponent to be determined.
The celebration of the 150th
anniversary of intercollegiate baseball is set for April 17 when Lafayette's first-ever opponent, Lehigh travels to Kamine Stadium.
The Leopards make a midweek trip to Penn State on April 24 and the regular season finale will be on the road at Monmouth on May 8.
The Patriot League Tournament is set to begin on May 11 as the semifinals will take place with the finals happening May 17-19.
