EASTON, Pa. – Freshman
Marco Olivas (Fort Worth, Texas/Fossil Ridge) has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week it was announced on Monday afternoon.

The linebacker had a breakout game just five games into his collegiate career, registering 17 tackles, including 13 solo stops. The 17 tackles are the most by any Patriot League player this season and tied for the fifth-most in the nation. Olivas also forced a fumble that the Leopard offense turned into seven points. Olivas has played in five games with one start in his rookie campaign.

Olivas' award is the fourth Patriot League Rookie of the Week honor for a Leopard player in 2019. QB
Keegan Shoemaker secured the award on Sept. 9 and was the Rookie and Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 16 while DL
Damon Washington was honored Sept. 22.
The freshman was also named an honorable mention for this week's STATS FCS National Freshman Player of the Week award.Â
