Hours: Vary by week, depending upon season. Must be willing to work some nights and weekends.
Start/End Date: Interns are accepted throughout the year with start and end dates to be agreed upon by intern and supervisor

Qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Education, Counseling, Sport Management or related field; customer service oriented; excellent written and verbal skills; proficiency in G Suite.

Job Description:
The Student-Athlete Success office supports approximately 620 student-athletes who participate in 23 varsity sports at Lafayette College. The Student-Athlete Success/Development Intern will assist the Assistant Director and Senior Associate AD with the daily operations of the office. This will include management of the Peer Mentor Program, Study Flex, student-athlete leadership development programs, course registration, and all academic matters involving student-athletes.Â
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with developing and implementing academic success plans for student-athletes who have learning challenges, are underprepared for college, and/or lacking the tools necessary for success.

Works to develop relationships with student-athletes for the purposes of identifying students who are struggling and in need of more comprehensive support.

Assist student-athletes with course selection, registration, and progress toward degree.

Participate in the daily coordination of the Peer Mentor Program.

Assist with the supervision of the Study Flex Program

Monitors student progress in Study Flex and fosters the development of time management, organizational skills as well as other academic skills as outlined in student-athletes academic plan by providing coaching, information, and resources.

Acts as a proctor of student-athletes in the Study Flex Program by logging visits and ensuring students stay engaged in academic work.

Assists with preparation of reports and other materials on academic status for coaches, athletics administrators, and university administrators.

Update weekly newsletters, update department websites, and contribute to social media accounts.

Assists in the organization of materials and planning of events for academics, SAAC, Peer Mentor Program, and Oaks Leadership Academy.Â
