Position: Equipment Services Intern
Hours: 20-40 per week. Must be willing to work some nights and weekends.
Start/End Dates: August through November | January through April
Pay:Â Not applicable (may qualify for academic credit)

Job Description: This individual will work closely with the equipment staff to provide a spectacular service to all athletic teams at Lafayette College. This position will take place either during the fall or spring semester. Shorter internships are available at the discretion of the supervisor. This role will be based primarily out of the Bourger Varsity Football House equipment room and the Kirby Sports Center equipment room.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the equipment staff to provide a tremendous service to the athletic department
- Help maintain all issued athletic equipment
- Will be taught how to properly maintain an athletic equipment inventory record
- Ensure proper storage of all athletic equipment and apparel
- Properly process daily laundry for assigned athletic teams
- Assist the Director of Equipment Services with fitting of all football athletic equipment
- Assist the equipment staff and football coaching staff with the operation of all practices
- Setup and breakdown field equipment for all football practices
- Perform locker room preparation for home games of assigned teams
- Be on the sideline for all home football games and traveling to all away football games
- Will be assigned one semester-long project to improve the experience of the student-athletes
Qualifications:
- Must be self-driven to get better every day and be able to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Must have great attention to detail
- Efficient with all Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.)
- Must have great communication skills and a passion to learn
- Must be enrolled in a current undergraduate program and in good academic standing
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
