Ottewill-Soulsby, Snow Named 2015-16 Captains

Oct. 6, 2015

EASTON, Pa. - Junior forward Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby and senior guard Annette Snow have been chosen as the two women's basketball team captains for the upcoming 2015-16 season.

Ottewill-Soulsby was one of three Lafayette players to appear in all 31 games last year, shooting 46.3 percent from the field and ranking second on the team with 22 blocks. She additionally played a key role for Great Britain in the 2015 U-20 European Championships this summer, seeing action in all nine games and averaging 7.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and a team-high 1.2 blocks per contest. Included in that tournament was an 18-point, 16-rebound breakout performance against Montenegro on July 6.

"From a maturation process, Harriet may have made the most progress this summer," head coach Theresa Grentz said. "I think the experiences that she had playing for Great Britain have helped her see what she can contribute to this team."

Snow has made 59 appearances for the Maroon and White, including 27 during her junior campaign in 2014-15. She averaged 1.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, hitting 5 of 17 attempts from 3-point range on the season.

"Annette has worked very hard this summer as well," Grentz remarked. "She will play on the perimeter, and as one of our captains we will expect her to really lead, to make sure that the chemistry of the team remains positive. She can do a lot of different things for us."

The Leopards return eight letterwinners overall from last season. Ottewill-Soulsby and Snow will become the 67th and 68th captains, respectively, in the history of the program.
