EASTON, Pa. – Drexel outlasted Lafayette in game one of the team's Wednesday doubleheader, rallying for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim a 7-6 decision. The Leopards entered the half inning with a 6-3 advantage.

Lafayette pushed across two runs in the top of the first.
Maddie Wensel scored
Erica Hanson on an RBI-single. With runners on the corners, Leopard head coach
Caitlyn de la Haba put on the double steal, and
Brooke Wensel scampered home for the early lead.

In the bottom of the inning, Drexel's Kristi DiMeo knotted the score by driving in a pair of runs with a double. The game remained tied until the bottom of the sixth inning when Haley Hulitt's solo home run put Drexel ahead 3-2.

The action picked up in the top of the seventh. Lafayette broke out for four runs and a 6-3 lead.

Malori Pojar (two-run double) all plated runs for the Leopards who looked to be in command of the game.

Winners of six straight Drexel, would not go away quietly. A walk and an infield single got things going for the Dragons. Linda Rush brought Drexel within a run (6-5) with her two-out double. Drexel tied the game when Leopard infielder
Erica Hanson lost a ball in the sun, resulting in single for Hulitt. The winning run came plateward as Taylor Lee drew a bases-loaded walk.

Hulitt (1-2) registered the win, tossing 1.2 innings, allowing four runs on four hits with two strikeouts.
Stacy Gordon took the loss, giving up six earned on seven hits while striking out a career-high 10 batters.
