EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette women's lacrosse head coach
Katie McConnell announced the addition of
Emily Considine as an assistant coach on Wednesday morning. Considine worked with McConnell for the past three seasons at Manhattan.
"I am incredibly excited to announce the addition of
Emily Considine to our coaching staff. Emily brings a wealth of knowledge and positivity to our program from her playing and coaching experiences," McConnell said. "She is extremely hardworking and dedicated to the development of each member of our team. Our student-athletes here will benefit tremendously under her guidance."
Considine served as the top assistant at Manhattan, helping to lead the Jaspers to an 11-6 record in 2019 and team's first postseason appearance since 2009. The 11 victories were tied for the most in program history.
During her time in Riverdale, the Jaspers increased their clear percentage from .785 to .836 and assist numbers from 55 to 80 as a unit. In addition to her work with Manhattan, Considine was involved on the club circuit with Long Island Top Guns, Long Island Elevate, Long Island Liberty, Long Island FLG and Tristate.
"I am extremely excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Lafayette women's lacrosse community," Considine said. "I have learned a tremendous amount working under Coach McConnell over the last three years. I am grateful and honored that she has offered me the opportunity to join her in growing a program with so much potential."
Considine competed for Syracuse and Hofstra during her playing career, named to the CAA All-Rookie Team at Hofstra in 2013. Her team made back-to-back appearances in the semifinals and finals of the CAA Tournament during 2013 and 2014.
