Kamine Stadium Virtual Tour

Lafayette's baseball program practices and plays all of its games at Hilton Rahn '51 Field at Kamine Stadium at the Metzgar Athletic Campus in Forks Township, Pa. Renovations over the past decade have drastically improved the venue and turned it into one of the top baseball facilities in the Patriot League.

Dedicated in 2008, Kamine Stadium is named in honor of Harold N. Kamine '78 and Kathleen Coogan Kamine '78. The infield underwent a complete renovation in 2007. The project included grading the subsurface of the infield, installing an irrigation system and placement of new sod and infield mix. The pitcher's mound and home plate were also rebuilt.

Prior to the 2003 season, the stadium underwent significant changes. A 500-seat grandstand, with chair back seating, was added behind home plate. A press box, equipped with a permanently installed public address system and utilities for television and video streaming, radio, and internet sits atop the new grandstand. A new backstop with netting was attached to the bleacher seating. The existing team dugouts were extended by 20 feet and were completely refurbished, adding on-field storage.

A 15-foot crushed stone warning track lines the outfield fence and helps define the dimensions - 332 down the left field line, 403 to straightaway center and 335 down the right field line. The stadium also features permanent batting cages and four regulation bullpens, including a home bullpen shelter.

While Kamine Stadium does have outdoor batting cages, the bulk of the hitting work is done in Morel Field House located down the third-base line between the softball and baseball complexes. The facility is an 80-ft. x 96-ft. building (7,680 sq. ft.) that features four batting tunnels, an Astroturf surface, four indoor pitching circles, four hitting mats and three divider nets. There is also a 21-ft. x 80-ft. area used for storage, warm-up and video analysis.
