EASTON, Pa. - After singles, Lafayette (11-4, 2-1 PL) and Army (12-10, 2-0) were tied 3-3 in women's tennis, but the Cadets took all three doubles matches and handed the Leopards their first Patriot League loss of the season.

Shannon Rowe (Winchester, Mass./Winchester), Felicia Turturiello (Berkley Heights, N.J./ Berkley Heights) and Lily Fardshisheh (Potomac, Md./Holton Arms) all won, the latter two in striaght sets, to help the Leopards even up the match after singles. Shannon Rowe looked as if she would handle her opponent easily after a 6-1 thrashing in the first set, but then Cheryl Hamilton of Army came back to return the favor in the second, winning 6-1. The younger Rowe then took command of the match with convincing 6-2 win in the third set.

At #3 doubles, Fardshisheh and partner Katie Gibbons (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) dropped a tight match that went to a tiebreaker. After battling to 9-8, Jen Blatty and Jamie Barker of Army put away the Leopard twosome in four points.

Lafayette prepares for its final regular season match this Tuesday, April 25 when they travel to head coach Barb Young's alma mater, Delaware, for a 3 p.m. start. After that, the Patriot League Tournament is set for the weekend of the 29th.
