Men's Tennis Team Finishes Third at ECAC Championships

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's tennis team had two members alive going into Saturday's final day of competition at the ECAC Championships at Mercer Park. Sophomore Ryan Collins (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) won both his semifinal and final matches to take home the No. 3 seed title of the two-day competition. Lafayette placed third as a team at the event.

Collins notched a 6-2, 6-1 win over Loyola's Brian Johnson in the semifinal match of No. 3 singles and steamrolled Josh Hamilton of Towson 6-1, 6-1, to walk away the champion. The other remaining Leopard from Friday's competition was Dan Seward (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West), who lost his semifinal match at the No. 2 singles seed to Paul Peddy of St. Peter's, 6-2, 6-2.

Lafayette continues it's fall team schedule Sunday in a match at Rider, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
