EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's tennis team earned its first victory this fall with a 5-2 win over Monmouth Wednesday at the Northampton Country Club.
The Leopards (1-1) saw five of its six singles matches end in victory as the teams met in a match postponed from Tuesday due to rain. Sophomore H'Cone Thompson (Washington, D.C./DeMatha) earned his first singles victory of the season at the No. 1 seed, easily defeating Monmouth's Chad Long, 6-1, 6-2.
The men's team has a bit of a break until its next match Oct. 12 versus La Salle.
