BETHLEHEM, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's and womens cross counrty teams participated in the NCAA District Championships on Saturday at Lehigh University. The women's team finished 23rd overall while the men finished in 27th place.

Lauren McHale led the women's team with a 100th place finish in 23:29. Devon Landers (108th-23:39), Mary Zetti (130th-24:09), Caitlyn Herman (170th-26:02).and Jenna Cece (178th-27:07) also ran for the Leopards.

One hundred-eighty runners competed in the women's field with Georgetown's Marni Kruppa taking first place in 20:34. Kruppa's fellow Georgetown teammates finished in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place, securing the women's team title.

The Lafayette men's team was led by Ken Poli who finished the course in 33:38 for 123rd place. Matthew Taverna claimed 146th place with a 34:28 finish. Carlos Garcia (156-34:33), Thomas Kennedy (173rd-35:22), Matthew Schleifer (182nd-36:13), and Kevin Penderghest (188th-37:24) also ran for the men's team.

Villanova's Adrian Blincoe beating out teammate Ryan Hayden by six seconds to secure the men's title in the 196-runner field. Villanova won the men's team title.
