HAMILTON, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - The men's tennis team struggled in its Patriot League opening match as it fell to Colgate, 7-0, on Saturday in Hamilton, N.Y.

Sophomore H'Cone Thompson (Washington, D.C./DeMatha) pushed his No. 1 singles match to three sets but ended up falling, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to Colgate's Eric Saccullo. Sophomore Dan Seward (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) struggled in No. 2 singles, losing 6-2, 6-3 to Josh Cohn while classmate Ryan Collins (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) fell to Andrew Davis, 6-4, 6-3, in No. 3 singles.

Lafayette falls to 3-5 on the year and 0-1 in the Patriot League. Colgate improves to 4-8 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The Leopards continue their Patriot League slate on Thursday at Lehigh. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
