Women's Tennis Ousts Archrival Lehigh, 4-3

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's tennis team returned to Sullivan Courts for the first time since Oct. 4 to win a tough Patriot League match against its archrival Lehigh, 4-3, on Wednesday. Lafayette (9-3, 1-1) dropped the first three singles flights to the Mountain Hawks before winning the last three flights and stealing two of three doubles matches.

Senior co-captain Felicia Turturiello (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) notched the first singles victory for the Leopards with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Meggan Dencker in No. 4 singles. Freshmen Monika Serrano (Caracas, Venezuela/Wallenpaupak) and Ali Kelley (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) easily won at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively.

The doubles teams of Meghan Rowe (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) and Turturiello and Serrano and Kelley won in the No. 2 and 3 flights to steal the Leopards' first Patriot League win of the season from Lehigh (2-5, 0-1).

The Leopards remain home to host Bucknell on Friday in a Patriot League match scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
