BETHLEHEM, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Sophomore H'Cone Thompson (Washington, D.C./DeMatha) was the lone singles victor for Lafayette as the team fell to archrival Lehigh, 6-1, on Thursday in men's tennis action. Thompson defeated senior Kenny Leung of Lehigh, 7-6 (3), 6-2, in No. 1 doubles as the Leopards remain winless in Patriot League action this season.
Lafayette (3-6, 0-2) dropped the remaining singles flights but put up a tough battle with Dan Seward (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) losing a tough 7-5, 6-3 match to Lehigh's Gary Drozdowski in No. 2 singles. Sophomore Ryan Collins (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional), who entered the match with a record of 9-3 on the year, fell in No. 3 singles to Ryan Caan, 6-0, 6-2.
Lehigh improves to 4-8 on the year and 1-0 in league action.
The Leopards take a break from conference action with a road trip to Rider on April 2.
