LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette took a break from its conference slate this spring by rolling past Rider, 7-0, in men's tennis action on Monday.

The Leopards (4-6, 0-1) swept all the singles and doubles flights en route to the victory. H'Cone Thompson (Washington, D.C./DeMatha) cruised past John Phillips, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 1 singles while classmate Dan Seward (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) had his way with Tim Koch, 6-3, 6-3, in flight two singles.

Ryan Collins (Whitehouse Station, N.Y./ Hunterdon Central Regional) continued his successful year with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Frank Ruggiero in No. 3 singles. Mike Levey (Pine Brook, N.J./Montville), Mike Durette (Avon, Conn./Suffield Academy) and Devin Murphy (Buxton, Md./Boys Latin School) also celebrated victories in singles competition.

The doubles team of Thompson and Seward beat Phillips and Koch, 8-1, in No.1 doubles while Collins and Levey defeated Ruggiero and Neil McConnell, 6-0, 6-1.

The Leopards hit the road again on Wednesday for a non-conference match at Fairleigh Dickinson.
