EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's tennis team wrapped up its regular season Patriot League schedule with a convincing 6-1 win over the visiting Bucknell Bison on Monday at Sullivan Courts. The Leopards improve to 13-4 overall and 2-2 in league play.
Senior Meghan Rowe (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) posted a hard-fought win over Jill Wurzberg, 6-3, 4-6 (5), for a victory in No. 1 singles and also picked up an 8-2 win in No. 2 doubles with classmate Felicia Turturiello (Berkely Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston). Turturiello also picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Samantha Berthod in No. 4 singles.
Sophomore Lily Fardshisheh (Potomac, Md./Holton Arms) and freshmen Monika Serrano (Caracas, Venezuela/Wallenpaupak) and Ali Kelly (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) also picked up wins in their respective singles and doubles matches.
The Leopards remain at home to host coach Barbara Young's alma mater Delaware on Tuesday before heading to the Patriot League team championship this weekend at Bucknell.
