EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's tennis team extended its home winning streak this year to 7-0 with a 5-2 win over St. Peter's on Tuesday at Sullivan Courts.
Shannon Rowe (Winchester, Mass./Winchester), Felicia Turturiello (Berkely Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) and Monika Serrano (Caracas, Venezuela/Wallenpaupak) each celebrated victories in singles flights three through five to give the Leopards the edge heading into doubles competition. Ali Kelley (Silver Spring, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) also won in the No. 6 singles flight.
Rowe and Lily Fardshisheh (Potomac, Md./Holton Arms) teamed up to beat Joy Rodrigues and Melissa Mottola in No. 1 doubles, 8-2, and Meghan Rowe (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) and Turturiello defeated the team of Jessica Wise and Meyerson in No. 2 doubles, 8-0. Kelley and Serrano defeated Tijana Tiodrovic and Jennifer Meyerson, 8-1, in No. 3 doubles.
The Leopards (10-3) continue their non-conference slate at Temple on Friday.
