VILLANOVA, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's tennis team saw its two-game winning streak disappear as it fell to Villanova, 5-2, on Thursday.
H'Cone Thompson (Washington, D.C./DeMatha) won his No. 1 singles match over Brad Adams, 6-4, 7-5, to improve to 9-7 overall this year. Ryan Collins (Whitehouse Station, N.Y./Hunterdon Central Regional) beat A.J. Rohde, 6-3, 3-6 (7), in No. 3 singles action.
Collins and Mike Durette (Avon, Conn./Suffield Academy) teamed up to win the No. 2 doubles match but it was not enough for the Leopards to get by the Wildcats in Philadelphia.
Lafayette is now 5-7 on the season.
The Leopards head back home to host St. Joseph's at 3:00 on Friday
