WEST POINT, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's tennis team dropped some tough singles matches during day one of the Patriot League Flighted Tournament at Army.

The only Leopards advancing to day two is the doubles tandem of Katie Gibbons and Lisa Fung-Kee-Fung. The duo defeated Melissa Rausch and Alexis Rentschler of American, 8-4 to advance to Sunday's semifinals.

In singles action, Lily Fardshisheh had a bye in the quarterfinals, but then dropped a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 decision to Army's Amanda Paulach in the fourth singles semifinals.

At fifth singles, Susan King won a 6-1, 6-3 quarterfinal match over Danielle Suchow of Lehigh, but lost to Christina Lucin of Army, 6-0, 6-3 in the semifinals.

Chez Saricas, Shannon Rowe, Monika Serrano and Jessica Abel each lost in the quarterfinals.
