VILLANOVA, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's tennis team played its toughest match of the fall season and walked away with a 6-1 victory over Villanova on Monday afternoon. This is the Leopards' first win against Villanova in four years and improves the Leopards' record to 5-0.

Top singles player Chez Saricas extended her unbeaten streak to five matches with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jennifer Zick. Monika Serrano also improved her record to 5-0 taking a hard-fought match against Jessie Rybacki.

Shannon Rowe, Lily Fardshisheh and Jessica Abel added singles wins for the Leopards.

Lafayette's top-two doubles pairs again found success for the fourth straight time, with Saricas and Serrano posting an 8-3 win and Rowe and Fardshisheh taking home a 9-7 decision. Katie Gibbons and Lisa Fung-Kee-Fung defeated the Wildcats 8-2 in No. 3 doubles.

Lafayette returns to action on Tuesday at 4 p.m. when Monmouth visits Sullivan Courts.
