EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Chez Saricas, Monika Serrano and Jessica Abel each claimed singles matches to help the Lafayette women's tennis team defeat Monmouth, 6-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Sullivan Courts.

Saricas and Serrano improved their records to 6-0 at No. 1 and No. 3 singles with 6-0, 6-1 and 6-2, 7-5 decisions, respectively. Abel is now 5-0 on the season after taking a 6-3, 6-0 match at No. 6 singles for the Leopards (6-0).

Shannon Rowe added a 6-2, 6-1 win at the second spot and Lily Fardshisheh cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 4. The two then teamed for an 8-0 victory at second doubles.

Saricas and Serrano paired for the win at No. 1 doubles, while Katie Gibbons and Lisa Fung-Kee-Fung were 8-2 winners at No. 3.

Lafayette plays at La Salle at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday before wrapping up the fall season with the Patriot League Tournament at Army on Oct. 19-20.
