Men's Tennis Falls to Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's tennis team dropped a Patriot League match to league foe Bucknell on Thursday in Lewisburg, Pa.

Lafayette (12-5, 1-3) won the top two singles spots and the top doubles match, but it wasn't enough as the Bison improved to 11-4 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Freshman Matt Coin earned a win over Bucknell's Nick Denefrio at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3. Junior H'Cone Thompson handed Bucknell's Alex Davydov a straight set loss with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Coin and Thompson also teamed up for a win at the No. 1 doubles spot.

Bucknell swept the Nos. 3 to 6 singles spots despite hard fought efforts from the Leopards including second-set tiebreakers from Devin Murphy (No.4) and John Zazzu (No.5).

In doubles action, Murphy and Alex Karapetian fell at No. 2 singles, 8-1, while Ryan Collins and Zazzu dropped the No. 3 match, 8-2.
