EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette fell to American, 6-1, in women's tennis action at Sullivan Courts on Saturday. The loss dropped the Leopards to 0-3 in league play while the Eagles improved to 5-0 in league action.
Sophomore Susan King recorded the Leopards' lone win with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles. Classmate Lisa Sayed competed at No. 5 singles, winning the first set 7-5, but American's Annemarie Schoemaker came back to win the second sets, 6-4 and take the a third set tiebreaker, 11-9.
The Eagles won the top four singles spots and swept the doubles events for the 6-1 win.
Lafayette hosts league foe Colgate on Sunday at 1 p.m.
