FLUSHING MEADOW, N.Y. - The Lafayette men's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 win over St. Francis-NY at the National Tennis Center this afternoon. The Leopards lost just 11 games in the six singles matches, including 6-0, 6-0 victories by both H'Cone Thompson and Ryan Collins.
Matt Coin got things started for Lafayette (15-6) at number one singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. After Thompson and Collins took care of their opponents in straight sets at No. 2 and 3 singles, respectively, John Zazzu, Mike Levey and Brian Schubert comined to drop just seven games.
In doubles action, Coin and Alex Karapetian combined for a 9-7 win, while Thompson and Levey took an 8-4 victory, and Collins and Schubert earned an 8-0 win.
