West Point, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Sophomore Kevin Penderghest (Lindenwood, N.J./Paul VI) placed 24th overall (21:09) to lead Lafayette at the 6K Army Invitational.

Freshman Nick Baldwin (Norfolk, Va./Norview) crossed the finish line second for the Leopards in 21:26, finishing 29th overall. While freshman Nick Birosk (New Ringgold, Pa./Tamaqua) and junior Carlos Garcia (Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop Kenny) finished in a dead heat (21:29), placing 30th and 31st respectively.

Sophomore Colin McDonough (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) completed the Leopards' scoring with a time of 21:46, earning 36th place in the 74-runner field.

The Leopards finished in third place behind Army and Lehigh, and ahead of the U.S. Merchant Marines and the U.S. Military Academy Prep School.

Lafayette returns to action on September 6 in the Lehigh Valley Cross Country Championships at Lehigh University.
