Lafayette Men's Tennis Makes It Three Straight

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's tennis team posted a 7-0 win over Fordham on Friday afternoon at Sullivan Courts to give the Leopards a three-game season-opening unbeaten streak. The Leopards have yet to allow an opponent to put a point in the match scoring column.

H'Cone Thompson and Dan Seward came through with an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles to help the Leopards claim the doubles point after the first two matches split.

In singles, all six Leopards improved to 3-0, with Matt Coin and Brett Warren posting identical 6-4, 6-3 match scores at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Ryan Collins blanked his opponent, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5, while Thompson, Seward and Zazzu also tallied wins.

Lafayette (3-0) will compete in the ECAC Tournament this weekend at Mercer Park in Princeton, N.J. Play begins at 9 a.m. Saturday.

6. John Zazzu (LC) def. Joe Greco (FU), 6-3, 6-4.

Doubles:
1. Thompson/Seward (LC) def. Kelly/Salak (FU), 8-5.
2. Coin/Zazzu (LC) def. Carducci/Greco (FU), 8-1.
3. Himmelstein/Krieg (FU) def. Collins/Jeremy Fehrs (LC), 8-3.
