BETHLEHEM, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette College men's cross-country team placed 27th out of 33 teams in Saturday's 29th Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University.

The Leopards' five scorers all finished within one minute and five seconds of each other with sophomore Kevin Penderghest (Lindewood, N.J./Paul VI) leading the way at 27:02.30.

Penderghest crossed the line slightly ahead of classmate Colin McDonough's (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) time of 27:23.20 and freshman Nickolas Baldwin's (Norfolk, Va./Norview) run of 27:33:79.

Junior Tom Kennedy (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) finished in 27:39.48 and freshman Nicholas Birosik (New Ringgold, Pa./Tamaqua) rounded out the Leopards' scoring in a time of 28:07.86.

The Leopards'return to action at Lehigh for a cross-country duel with the host Mountain Hawks on October 4.
