BRONX, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Atlantic 10 foe Fordham on Friday.
The Leopards were victorious at third through fifth singles, but Fordham won a pair of doubles matches to earn the fourth team point.
Senior Monika Serrano (Caracas, Venezuela/Wallenpaupak) improved to 4-1 with a marathon 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 7-6 (7-3) victory at third singles.
Freshman Leigh Pratt (Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) and senior Ali Kelley (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) were straight sets winners at fourth and fifth singles, respectively.
Kelley and sophomore Stephanie Rosman (Margate, N.J./Peddie) improved to 4-1 in doubles action with an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Leopards return to action on Saturday, hosting Franklin & Marshall at 11 a.m.
