Kevin Penderghest Leads Three Leopards On The Patriot League Men's Cross Country Academic Honor Roll

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Sophomore Kevin Penderghest (Lindenwood, N.J./Paul VI) finished the 2002 fall semester with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and was one of three Leopards named to the Patriot League Men's Cross Country Academic Honor Roll on Monday.

Penderghest, a Mathematics major, was also named to the 2001 Academic Honor Roll.

A pair of freshman, Nickolas Baldwin (Norfolk, Va./Norview) and Nicholas Birosik (New Ringgold, Pa./Tamaqua), join Penderghest in representing the Leopards. Baldwin earned a 3.75 GPA in Mechanical Engineering, and Birosik finished the semester with a 3.25 GPA in Chemistry.

In all, 65 student-athletes were named to the Men's Cross Country Academic Honor Roll.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the seven League-sponsored fall championship sports.

A total of 510 student-athletes were named to the League's Fall Academic Honor Roll, including 20 with 4.0 GPAs. The Fall Academic Honor Roll includes the sports of men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball.
