EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's women's tennis team suffered its first defeat of the 2003-04 season on Thursday, dropping a 6-1 decision to Villanova.
Sophomore Lisa Fung-Kee-Fung (Westmoorings, Trinidad/International School Port of Spain) was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at second singles. She is now 3-0 on the season at No. 2 singles.
Senior Monika Serrano (Caracas, Venezuela/Wallenpaupak) and freshman Leigh Pratt (Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) teamed for an 8-6 win at first doubles, but Villanova swept the other two doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
Lafayette, 2-1 overall, returns to action on Friday, hosting Rhode Island at 4 p.m.
