BLACKSBURG, Va. (www.lafayette.edu) - Sophomore Andrew Mott and senior John Zazzu represented Lafayette at the ITA Regionals at Virginia Tech over the weekend. The Leopards squared off against some of the top competition on the East Coast.

Mott, Lafayette's lone entrant in the main singles draw, dropped an opening-round match to Yhonnay Murray of Temple, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3. Mott and Zazzu also fell in the opening round of doubles action, 8-5, to the Harvard tandem of Jason Beren and Martin Wetzel. Beren and Wetzel eventually won the 56-team doubles draw.

Zazzu also took the court in the qualifying singles bracket. He dropped a 6-4, 6-4 decision to James Carpenter of Stony Brook.

Lafayette opens the spring season on Feb. 13 at Penn State.
