EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's men's and women's tennis teams both completed 7-0 shutout wins over Rider at Sullivan Courts on Tuesday.

The Lafayette men and women combined to win all 12 singles matches and all six doubles pairings on the day.

The Lafayette women cruised to their seven team points. The closest match on the women's side was an 8-4 win at third doubles for Susan King (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) and Meghan Fitzgerald (Fairfield, Conn./Lauralton Hall Academy).

On the men's side, Peter Titus (Brightwaters, N.Y./Bay Shore) claimed his third straight victory in singles action, taking a 6-1, 6-7(2), 10-8 win at No. 3 singles. He teamed with John Zazzu (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles, their seventh win as a doubles tandem but first at the No. 1 flight.

Devin Murphy (Buxton, Md./Boys Latin School) improved to 7-2 with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

The Lafayette men (9-2) and women (10-5) hit the road on Wednesday, visiting Loyola (Md.) for a non-league match beginning at 3 p.m.
