WEST POINT, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision in a Patriot League match at Army on Wednesday.
The Black Knights took all six singles matches in straight sets and swept the three doubles pairings. The win clinches Army (17-7 overall, 5-1 Patriot League) a share of the Patriot League regular season championship with Colgate.
Army's John Sabia improved to 17-6 at first singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win over freshman Andrew Mott, while Lafayette's Brett Warren nearly claimed the first set at No. 2 singles before bowing 7-5, 6-1.
The Leopards' doubles tandem of John Zazzu and Peter Titus suffered its first Patriot League loss, falling 8-2 at No. 2 doubles to Michael Good and John Houghton.
Lafayette (10-6 overall, 0-3 Patriot League) visits Navy on Friday, then hosts American and Lehigh on Saturday and Tuesday, respectively, to round out the regular season. All three matches are Patriot League contests.
