EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's men's tennis team fell to Villanova, 5-2, in a non-league match at Sullivan Courts on Saturday.
Sophomore Peter Titus (Brightwaters, N.Y./Bay Shore) continued to swing a hot racket for the Leopards, claiming a 6-2, 7-5 decision at No. 2 singles and teaming with John Zazzu (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) for an 8-4 win at second doubles. Titus has now won four straight singles matches, extending his record to 12-4.
Lafayette's tandem of Brett Warren (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and Craig Helstowski (Shrewsbury, Mass./Saint John) also earned an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, giving the Leopards the match's doubles point.
Lafayette (9-3) is back in action on Sunday, host Kutztown in a non-league match at Sullivan Courts at 2 p.m.
