EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette's women's tennis team split six singles matches with Bucknell, but the Bison won two of three doubles matches to take a 4-3 Patriot League victory at Sullivan Courts on Saturday.
Chez Saricas (Stamford, Conn./Trinity Catholic), Ali Kelley (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) and Stephanie Rosman (Margate, N.J./Peddie) were all winners for the Leopards in singles action.
Saricas improved to 10-5 at first singles with a 6-3, 7-6(5) win over Veronica Brown. Kelley improved to 5-1 at No. 5 singles with a 6-2, 7-5 victory, while Rosman's 6-3, 6-2 win was her second at No. 6 singles.
Saricas and Monika Serrano (Caracas, Venezuela/Wallenpaupak) combined for an 8-2 win at first doubles, but Bucknell claimed the final two doubles flights and with them the decisive fourth team point.
Lafayette (10-7) returns to Patriot League action on Sunday, hosting Colgate at Sullivan Courts at 11 a.m.
