Mott and Guarino Play in ITA East Regionals

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette junior Andrew Mott advanced to the second round of the ITA East Regionals in men's tennis last weekend at Dartmouth.

Mott trailed his first round match with Shantana Dhaka of Harvard, 4-6, 0-3, before Dhaka was forced to retire with an ankle injury. In the second round, Mott fell 6-2, 6-0 to No. 29 David Rosenfeld of Virginia Tech.

Mott and sophomore Paul Guarino lost their first round doubles match to Matt Schor and Rob Sforzo of Hofstra by a score of 8-5.

Mott finishes the fall with a 10-3 record in singles play, while he and Guarino were 7-0 as a doubles tandem this fall before the ITA Regionals. Mott was 16-11, including 3-3 in Patriot League action, as a sophomore, and had an 8-5 doubles record with Guarino in 2004-05.
