PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's tennis team closed out its fall season with three student-athletes competing at the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Men's Regional, which began on Thursday, Oct. 19 on the campus of Penn.
Junior Eric Wiley brought an 8-1 record into the singles competition, but was handed his second loss of the season. Wiley took on Hofstra's Luke Djordjevic, but came out on the short end of a 6-3, 6-3 match.
In doubles action, the Leopards did not have much more luck, as juniors Paul Guarino and Brett Kraft were unable to stop Patriot League foes Jon Brenner and Ryan Sandberg of Bucknell. Guarino and Kraft fell by an 8-5 score.
Lafayette hopes to ride the momentum of a 5-0 fall season when the team returns to action on March 9 at Brown to kick-off the spring season.
