UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Penn State pitched a 7-0 shutout of Lafayette's men's tennis team in the Leopards' spring opener on Sunday night at the Nittany Lions' indoor tennis center.
Andrew Mott had the squad's best showing, falling 6-4, 6-2 to Penn State's Michael James at first singles. James and Malcolm Scatliffe defeated Mott and Paul Guariono 8-5 in the top doubles pairing.
Pete Titus and Jeremy Fehrs dropped an 8-2 decision at No. 2 doubles while Brett Warren and Lee Kojanis fell 8-3 at No. 3.
The Nittany Lions improve to 5-0 as they enter Big Ten action next weekend. Lafayette completed its fall schedule with an 11-0 mark. The Leopards are at Brown on Monday.
