EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Colgate won each of the first four singles matches contested to earn an abbreviated 4-0 win in Patriot League men's tennis on Friday night at the Northwood Racquet Club.
Play was halted at the indoor facility after the Raiders earned the match-clinching point to free up courts for the women's match, which went down to the final doubles pairing before Colgate pulled out a 4-3 win.
The fourth singles match between Gabe Walker and Marshall Wheeler went to a third set before Wheeler emerged with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 win for Colgate. Mickey Gallagher fought off Peter Titus in a first set tiebreaker and went on to a 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 victory at No. 3.
Chris Innes and Martin MacIntyre both won in straight sets at first and second singles or Colgate.
