ANNAPOLIS, Md. (www.lafayette.edu) - Navy improved to 2-1 in the Patriot League with a 7-0 win over Lafayette in men's tennis on Saturday afternoon in Annapolis.
The Mids won two of three doubles matches, with Paul Guarino and Andrew Mott earning an 8-6 victory at the No. 1 spot for Lafayette.
Jason Hill and Stanley Kahl defeated Brett Warren and Brett Kraft at No. 2, and Adrian Lai and John Waters downed Peter Titus and Jeremy Fehrs at No. 3.
The Mids won all six singles matches, with two stretching into a third set and two others decided in a second-set tiebreaker. Hill downed Mott 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) at the second slot and Lee Kojanis fell 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) to James in the final singles pairing.
Warren retired trailing 2-6, 6-1, 3-1 in the third set of his match with Lai at No. 3 and Titus dropped a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 affair to Waters at No. 4.
