LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Lafayette women's tennis team blanked Rider 7-0, winning all six singles matches and picking up the extra point with victories in two of three doubles matches on Wednesday.
Senior Ansley Scudder set the tone for the Leopards early by winning her sets 6-1, 7-5 over Danielle Morse. Sophomore Allie Seranko followed with a win over Kristina Paich (7-5, 6-2).
Senior Sarah Sykes defeated Tricia Ashmore (6-3, 6-4), and sophomore Rachel Rohinsky sealed her sets 6-0, 6-2.
Sophomore Emily DeLuca won both of her sets 6-3 while freshman Caitlin Gordon ran away with her two sets 6-1.
The Leopards also won two of three doubles matches over the Broncs. Seranko and Gordon teamed up for an 8-2 win while Scudder and Sykes cruised past Danielle White and Tricia Ashmore 8-0.
Senior Nancy Parker and Rohinsky dropped Lafayette's only match of the day, 8-4 in the final doubles competition.
The non-conference match was originally scheduled for September 26 but was postponed due to rain. Lafayette will resume play on Oct. 15 against St. Joseph's in Philadelphia at 3 p.m.
