EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's tennis team swept Wagner on Tuesday at Sullivan Courts in its final non-conference match of the season. This is the fifth time this year that the Leopards have swept an opponent. The Leopards are now 12-6 overall going into their regular season finale against Lehigh on Thursday with a 1-4 mark in Patriot League play.
Junior Lee Kojanis and senior Brett Kraft defeated the Wagner duo of Adam Amster and John LeBlanc, 6-2 from first doubles. Sophomores Chris Chartier-Cotter and Matt Rush combined for their second win at No. 2 doubles of the season with an 8-3 victory over Ben Serbiak and Bryon Clohessy.
Sophomore Eric Wiley took the 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 1 singles for his first victory from that spot this season. Wiley has a 9-6 singles record in 2007-08, including a 4-2 mark in second singles. Kraft followed with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over the Seahawks' John LeBlanc in second singles, improving his record to 4-1 from No. 2 singles.
Murphy and MacLelland swept their singles matches at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. With a 6-0, 6-1 decision at No. 5 at singles, Chartier-Cotter won against Sheldon Wilson.
The Leopards host archrival Lehigh on Thursday for their final regular season match prior to the Patriot League championships April 25-27.
