EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's tennis team blew away Wagner, 7-0, during a windy Monday afternoon on College Hill. With its victory, the team snapped a three-match losing streak and improved to 5-6 for the season.
Lafayette started on a high note in doubles competition when Eric Wiley and James Murphy teamed up to down John Leblanc and Marcelo Ensigna, 8-6.
Backed by solid performances by duos Doug Gallagher and Kyle MacLelland and Andrew Morris and Matthew Scheps, the Leopards picked up two more wins. The two teams lost just one of 17 games.
MacLelland (No. 3) , Morris (No. 4), James Sparacio (No. 5) and Scheps (No. 6) each won their matches in 6-0, 6-1 sets. MacLelland, Morris and Scheps joined Gallagher, who won against John Leblanc in No. 1 singles, with double wins on the day.
Lafayette kicks off league play on Thursday at Lehigh at 3 p.m.
