EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's tennis team blew away Wagner, 7-0, during a windy Monday afternoon on College Hill. With its victory, the team improved to 5-5 for the season.
Lafayette continued to keep its opponent in love. After blanking La Salle on Friday, the Leopards took six of their 13 singles sets against the Seahawks in 6-0 decisions.
The Leopards started off strong in doubles competition by sailing to three wins. Caitlin Gordon and Allie Seranko highlighted the women's effort with an 8-0 win versus Valerie LeCureux and Joanne Ciavarella.
Ansley Scudder lost the team's only set of the day in her first bout in No. 1 singles. She bounced back with 6-0 and 1-0 wins in the next two sets to claim the match.
Gordon and Nancy Parker cruised in the No. 3 and No. 4 singles, winning their matches in 6-1, 6-0 sets. Kristie Cavanagh capped the single's competition without dropping a single game to Ciavarella.
The Leopards kick off league play on Saturday in West Point, N.Y. with matches against Army and Holy Cross.
