STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Lafayette men's tennis team closed out its 2010 fall season with a 7-0 victory over NEC foe Wagner on Tuesday afternoon. Four Leopards did not give up a single game to their opponents.

Freshmen Will Mercorella and Sinan Ipeker joined Andrew Morris in shutting out their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Matt Shapiro defeated Joe Sciortino 8-0 at No. 6 singles while Doug Gallagher picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Senior Kyle MacLelland rounded out the group beating Taylor Santoro 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.

In doubles play, teammates Mercorella and Morris defeated Yiremeych Beckles and Pierre Yozon 8-0. Ipeker and Shapiro defeated their opponents by the same score while Gallagher and MacLelland won 8-5.

The Leopards return to action on March 13 when Lafayette heads to the west coast to take on UC San Diego to kick off spring break and the 2011 season.
