NEW HAVEN, Conn. -

Neither the Lafayette men's nor women's tennis team could find thier rhythm against Fairfield on Friday. The Stags swept the women (3-1) 7-0, while the men (3-4) battled a 5-2 loss.

Scott Gelbman defeated Erik Kremheller in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7. At No. 6 singles, Kyle MacLelland defeated Mike Lessing 6-4, 6-3.

The No. 1 doubles team of Eric Wiley and Doug Gallagher defeated Joe Michalisn and Dan Sauter, 8-4.

On the women's side, Kelsey Grad went into three sets against Kristen Liu but fell 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the end.

Katherine Charchalis and Kristie Cavanagh had the best day in No. 3 doubles, losing 8-5.

Lafayette will return home on March 13 when the men host La Salle at noon. The women return to action when they welcome Delaware on March 24.
