Final Results

EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's tennis team opened its 2010 season with a 7-0 sweep against Rider on Wednesday afternoon. Four Leopards (1-0) did not surrender a game to their opponents.

Freshman Will Mercorella made his collegiate debut against Rider's Rob Olsen, defeating him 6-0, 6-0. Scott Gelbman, Kyle MacLelland and Andrew Morris won by the same margin.

Justin Haar defeated Ryan Carpenter (6-1, 6-0) while Doug Gallagher won (6-0, 6-3) against Drew Laverty.

Haar was paired with MacLelland at No. 2 doubles and picked up an 8-0 victory against Olsen and Milo Milosovici. Gelbman and Mercorella won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles and Doug Gallagher and Morris won 8-3 at first doubles.

The Lafayette men are back in action on Sept 24 to take part in the St. Joseph's Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa.
