LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Lafayette men's tennis team was swept at No. 24 UC San Diego, 9-0, to open its spring trip in the Golden State.
The Leopards drop to 2-2 in the spring season, while UC San Diego stays perfect at 13-0.
Senior Justin Haar, sophomore Scott Gelbman and freshman Sinan Ipeker each claimed a set in their single matches, but were ultimately edged by the Tritons.
Lafayette is back in action on Monday for a neutral-site meeting with Skidmore in Claremont, Calif. In total, the Leopards will play four more matches on the west coast in preparation for Patriot League play, which begins at Army on Friday, March 25.
