LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Lafayette women's tennis team dominated at Rider on Wednesday, upending the host Broncs by a score of 6-1. The Leopards won four singles and one doubles match without allowing a single Rider point.
With its second consecutive victory, Lafayette improves to 2-3 in the spring season.
After sweeping their way to the doubles points, the Leopards were equally impressive in singles action. Allie Seranko (at No. 1 singles), Caitlin Gordon (No. 2), Lucy Bass (No. 5) and Liza Blank (No. 6) all won their matches, 6-0, 6-0. Emily DeLuca allowed just one point in a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles. Lafayette's lone blemish came at No. 3 singles when, despite winning the first set, 6-2, Katherine Charchalis was forced to retire due to injury.
The Leopards return to the court on Saturday, April 2 as Patriot League foe Navy visits College Hill for a 10:30 a.m. meeting.
